The Vintage Kimono Collection
Judith’s deep connection to Japanese culture is rooted in seventeen journeys across the country, where she led teaching tours for prestigious organizations like Nihon Vogue and Mokuba Ribbons. During these travels, she spent her early mornings at temple flea markets, hand-selecting a private collection of over forty exquisite silk kimonos. Following a heartbreaking storage loss due to water damage, Judith was able to save nine pristine kimonos, while the remainder of the collection has been thoughtfully repurposed into specialized kits for the crazy quilter.

These Kimonos Silk Kits offer a rare opportunity to work with authentic Japanese silks, curated by Judith into specific color stories: Pastel, Medium Dusty, Dark Dusty, and Jewel Tones. Included in the archive are rare Furisode silks—a style distinguished by the long, flowing sleeves traditionally worn for celebratory occasions. Whether you are acquiring one of the remaining full kimonos or a curated silk kit, these textiles carry the spirit of Judith’s travels and her dedication to preserving the beauty of Japanese silk.
